Law gives police powers to activists

Loos Tales FoodLink Chuck Wagon forges trail to Farm Progress Show - Just as in yesteryears when chuck wagons were used to nourish the cowboys as they drove cattle north toward the stockyards in Chicago, the Loos Tales FoodLink Chuck Wagon journey to this year's Farm Progress Show centers around raising awareness of the role U.S. farmers/ranchers and technology in the nation’s food production system and in assuring national security. The trail has been routed to symbolize how science and technology is transferred to the farm where it is applied by farmers/ranchers and then is passed to the consumer to ensure the production of the safest, most high quality food supply available to consumers anywhere in the world. The Loos Tales FoodLink Chuckwagon also will be in the McDonald's Thanksgiving Day Parade in Chicago.

Animal welfare needs paradigm shifts - Among the points made by Dr. Curtis in this commentary are that animal agriculture lacks strong leaders willing to take on the issue of animal welfare and that industry keeps wasting dollars on sponsoring meeting after meeting that fall short of arriving at a solution. A better approach, in his opinion, is support for actions focused on an actual end result.
